What is RoHS?
RoHS is the acronym for Restriction of Hazardous Substances. RoHS, also known as Directive 2002/95/EC, originated in the European Union and restricts the use of specific hazardous materials found in electrical and electronic products. All applicable products in the EU market after July 1, 2006 must pass RoHS compliance.

What are the restricted materials mandated under RoHS?
The substances banned under RoHS are lead (Pb), mercury (Hg), cadmium (Cd), hexavalent chromium (CrVI), polybrominated biphenyls (PBB) and polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE).

Why is RoHS compliance important?
The restricted materials are hazardous to the environment and pollute landfills, and are dangerous in terms of occupational exposure during manufacturing and recycling.

How are products tested for RoHS compliance?
Portable RoHS analyzers, also known as X-ray fluorescence or XRF metal analyzers, are used for screening and verification of RoHS compliance.

Which companies are affected by the RoHS Directive?
Any business that sells applicable electronic products, sub-assemblies or components directly to EU countries, or sells to resellers, distributors or integrators that in turn sell products to EU countries, is impacted if they utilize any of the restricted materials.

LMI 262351 HIGH DENSITY/ LOW PROFILE PLUGGABLE TERMINAL BLOCKS WITH LOCKING FLANGES

3.5MM

Our LMI Euro style High Density Pluggable Terminal Block with Locking Flangesis available in 2 - 20 poles, with a PIN spacing of 3.5 mm is able to handle high voltages of up to 300V using large current levels up to 8 Amps. Each connector is very adaptive and can easily accept from 24 to 14 AWG wire. The connector is solidly constructed and has been rigorously tested and is approved by the UL/CSA and IMQ/VDE.

The screw connection from LMI connector is currently in use in millions of applications all over the world and all share the following properties:
• Designed to provide Safety and to be Secure
• Easy to understand operation
• Proven reliability against screws becoming loose from their connections
• Guarantees a secure mate between plug and header, especially valuable in vibration applications
• Provides a reliable connection without strand damage or intermittence
• Unlike insulation displacement connectors, the type of wire insulation does not matter. LMI's product accepts any type of thickness insulation.
These connectors are ideal for and widely used in Industrial Controls, Elevators, Irrigation Systems, Process Control and Data Acquisition applications.

The connector block has small space requirements, is ruggedly built and is rated to withstand up to 105 degrees centigrade. This connector is very safe and fabricated from the material: PA66 which has a flame ability rating UL94V0.

The Euro Style Connector has a very small footprint that minimizes space requirements.

Each connector is soldered to the circuit board and easily connects to wires using screws. The screw size is M2 and seated using 1.7 inch pounds of torque.
